Frequently Asked Questions
What will I learn in lessons?
All our teachers are experienced at personalising lessons to your specific goals and targets.
If you want to focus on Business English, we will choose articles and exercises related to your industry or the industry you want to work in, we will ask you engaging questions to help you talk about these topics.
If you want to improve your presentation skills, we will guide you through self introductions, networking, how to speak publicly, or if you have an English test coming up we will use exercises and materials to help you prepare for the test.

All our teachers have a variety of skills, so no matter what your goal or purpose for learning English, we will personalise lesson to you. No two students are the same, so no two lesson plans should be the same!

Improve your confidence, your understanding of grammar, broaden your vocabulary range, and learn to discuss a variety of different topics confidently and fluently.
How many lessons do I need to improve?
The amount of lessons you will need depends on your goals and intentions.
You should see an immediate improvement in your confidence and ability to speak after just one or two lessons, as our teachers create a comfortable, safe space for you to make mistakes, and build on your language skills.

Most students take between 3-6 months worth of lessons, but we have longer term students who take one lesson per week, for over a year, and shorter term students who want to learn as much as possible in a 2 week period.
Improvement also depends on how committed and motivated you are, if you have a busy schedule, one lesson a week will certainly help you, but it will be a slower improvement than 2 or 3 lessons per week.
Will I have homework/self study?
Homework or self study complete depends on the students schedule.
If you are preparing for the IELTS test or any other English speaking test you should be doing as much self study as possible, however if you are improving your general English speaking skills, or learning Business English, you may find you do not have a lot of extra time for self study.

Some students find they have such busy schedules, they can only study in the lesson, for those students we do not assign homework or self study tasks, for others, they like to practice their grammar and writing in their free time, for these students, the teachers will assign self study exercises.

This is something you can discuss with your teacher in your first lesson, so they have an idea of what to plan for you.
How often will I have lessons?
How often you have lessons depends on your schedule.
If you are booking one of our IELTS courses, or the presessional course, lessons will be multiple times per wek.
However if you are signing up to 1, 6 or 10 lessons with a teacher you can book these whenever you have free time.
Once a week, three times a week, or everyday for two weeks, it is entirely up to you and we will adapt to your schedule.
Do you offer discount?
We can offer discount on your first lesson, and you also recieve discount when you book 10 lessons at once.
If you want to book more than 10 lessons please contact us and we can discuss details and discounts.

For corporate bookings, we can offer discount, please contact to discuss.

Don't see what you are looking for?
If you have an alternative reason to learn English and don't see it anywhere on the website, you can contact us to discuss this. Depending on your needs we can create a personalised course for your specific goals.
Do you offer group lessons?
At this moment in time we do not offer group lessons, but if you would like to share a lesson with a friend, please contact us. The price will vary slightly as the teacher will need to prepare materials for two people, and make sure you both have enough time to speak in lesson, but we can certainly arrange this for you.
Can I have a trial lesson?
Sure! A free 20 minute trial lesson with Teacher Catherine is offered to all students before booking.
Discuss your goals, and give Catherine an idea of your English level, she can then pair you up with the teacher who is right for you.
